Long Island teacher evaluations

Nearly 60 percent of Long Island public school educators are rated highly effective, according to data released Feb. 26, 2015, by the New York State Education Department. Here are figures for Nassau and Suffolk districts giving the percentage of teachers and principals in four categories for the 2013-14 school year, along with some basic demographic data from the 2012-13 school year. Click on the category boxes next to the map to change the color coding. Data for some small districts was suppressed by the state to avoid making it possible to identify individuals. Some district scores add to more than 100 percent due to rounding. To see a database of last year's evaluations, click here.
